A native of Maryland, Lauren has been living and playing in Tucson for several years. She attended the University of Arizona where she studied physical education with a minor in athletic coaching. As a former competitive long distance swimmer, she was naturally drawn to the sport of running. She has now been competing for several years in all distances, with specialties in the 10k and half marathon. On the side, she still dabbles in swimming, as well as cycling, rock climbing, hiking, strength training, and yoga.
Lauren has been a swim coach in both Maryland and Arizona since 2002 and is a certified personal trainer through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association). She has been training people of all ages and abilities for many years, and has gained valuable knowledge and experience using real-life motion and minimal equipment to effectively train clients to their peak physical condition. Lauren also has some background in nutrition, physical therapy, and injury prevention.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys being outside, playing with her dogs, and taking adventures. In addition to Blue Pants Racing, she currently works as a program manager for United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona.
Laszlo moved to Tucson from Romania in 1999. He is an avid runner, cyclist, mountain biker and rock-climber. A seasoned marathoner, he has participated in multiple endurance events including the Boston Marathon, the solo 24-Hours in the Old Pueblo and numerous shorter running races. Laszlo has successfully trained runners for different events ranging from charity walks to marathons. He is also the Race Director of several local running events.
Mike grew up in Pennsylvania and joined the USAF in 1999. He has competed in numerous road races ranging from 5Ks to a marathon and in many triathlons up to and including the Half Ironman distance. He has been a consistent award winner in both running and multisport events. Mike is very motivated and always on the move, he enjoys road and mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding and of course lots of running. Mike is currently pursuing his BS in Physical Activity and Health through Eastern Oregon University. He is a valuable part of the team and he is in charge of event planning, logistics and coaching.
Patrick played American Football as a middle linebacker for the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England for one \ year. After returning to Tucson, he graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. He is an alumni of the Recruit Training program and the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Training Center. He enjoys anything that involves exercise and being active. Whether it is running, competitive sports, hiking, or anything in between, Patrick is always up for a new challenge. He is the main advisor of the Recruit Training Program.
